Here is the Itinerary for July/Aug 2015 on Holland America--Fairbanks, Double Denali, Anchorage, Seward. Day of Cruising the Gulf of Alaska, Touring Glacier National Park, Haines/Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan, Cruise the inside passage and end in Vancouver. Thinking of doing the Whale watching excursion in Juneau and in Skagway the Davidson Glacier Wilderness Safari. Any thoughts on this trip? Thanks

That's one of the best itineraries, IMO, and those are great excursion choices. Our Alaska cruise on the Amsterdam was perfect - HAL does it right (we only cruise HAL and Celebrity now, after trying most lines except the very high-end ones).

Are these places YOU want to go? I have sailed HAL on this itinerary and they do a great job. The ship ports in Haines, Skagway is an additional cost to get to.

 

For the land touring? Does it have any time in Seward? Would be a suggestion to consider- and not meaning the lessor Bay tour inclusion. Seward is a gem to include, if of interest.

I will be on a very similar itinerary on HAL in one month..so look for my review afterwards. :) We are going northbound and then spending 2 nights in Seward. Skipping Denali this time. ..gives us an excuse to go back!
