prince34 Posted June 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2014 Hi Folks, My wife and I are going on a cruise to the Southern Carribean on the Pearl in Nov. and we want to know what the cab fare is to the port and if we can make a extra stop at a market to purchase water before we get to the ship. I hope this isn't a stupid question :o prince34
TruckerDave Posted June 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2014 The water on board is fine to drink. No real need to bring water on with you. A nice water bottle, bring it, as you can fill it with ice and water and be on your merry way.
Demonyte Posted June 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Hi Folks, My wife and I are going on a cruise to the Southern Carribean on the Pearl in Nov. and we want to know what the cab fare is to the port and if we can make a extra stop at a market to purchase water before we get to the ship. I hope this isn't a stupid question :o It would help if you gave more information, from the ship and itinerary I'd assume that you are sailing out from Miami, but that still leaves two popular airports for arrival (Miami and Fort Lauderdale). Cab from MIA to POM (Port of Miami) is fixed fee of $25 (at least last time I checked) but that doesn't allow you to make any stops, so if any stops are needed, then the whole journey is metered. What comes to water, that is highly debated subject - some will happily drink water from cabin taps, we always prefer having bottled water with us because on most ships we find the tap water to have too strong chlorine taste. Water served in bars and restaurants is always carbon filtered so there is no such taste and filling water bottle for example from buffet is possible, but because you are not allowed to directly fill the bottle for sanitary reasons (you need to use a clean glass to do it), it's much more hassle than bringing a case of water onboard and having tasteless water available in cabin all the time.
