Dream Vacation Sale vs Early Saver

It doesn't appear that there is price protection with the Dream Vacation Sale, or is there? Just curious to know before I call my PVP and get her all excited.

Should I wait for Early Saver or book now and pay the $50 deposit pp?

Dream Vacation rates are only good on cruises through November 2014. It is unlikely Early Saver rates will be offered again on any of the cruises that qualify for the Dream Vacation special.

Early Saver is usually only available on cruises booked more than 5 mouths out. If you are booking on line, in the selection for "Your Rate" you are shown 1 or 2 options for the Best Price. Below the "Best Price" offer is a link for "Other Rates". If you click that and Early Saver isn't listed, it will probably not be offered again for that cruise. If it is offered you can go ahead at book the ES rate.

As lovefuninthesun wrote, price protection until final payment date (the date carnival gives you/ not when you pay off your cruise) with most other promotions. With ES you can price match until 2 days before you sail. ES does come with some other restrictions. Please discuss with your PVP the pros and cons of each. If you are an avid reader of the carnival boards on CC you know not a week goes by that there isn't a posts regarding complaints about ES. I always book ES and understand the risk. For me it is worth it. Even when I had to pay $400 to cancel and book a different date for our family cruise. I knew the risk, gambled and had to pay. Whichever you pick have a wonderful cruise.
