Ccindicane2 Posted July 2, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2014 We just got back from our 4 day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada last Friday and was so excited to see they are now offering the cheers program on the Inspiration!!! It cost $230, which includes the gratuities and apparently tax. Unfortunately I am really not a big drinker so I don't think I even broke even but for those who are drinkers, it looks like they may now be offering it in the shorter cruises! JillySue Posted July 2, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 2, 2014 I'm on the Imagination for a 4 day in October, I hope this (probably) test goes well and it's there for us! Yay!
Rare Saint Greg Posted July 2, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Maybe this is good for liquor drinkers but as a beer drinker I can't find a way to make it work. Unless the menus I've seen are wrong, I'd have to drink 9 pints of Guinness a day, every day just to break even. Am I missing something? If I under spent and the remainder went to the bartender I'd be fine with it. Edited July 2, 2014 by Saint Greg

ccruisequeen Posted July 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 4, 2014 It's also offered on the 3-day cruises.
Carnival Cutie Posted July 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2014 From what I've read it's more expensive for the 3 day cruises, something like $69.95 per person per day. I'm not really a drinker and I understand why they stipulate that all adults in a cabin must purchase the plan but for me it's not worth it, besides my husband being a beer drinker and there not being a large selection of beers. We just purchase bar credits and use them. ;)

Carnival Cutie Posted July 5, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2014 On Carnival's website you can order merchandise and gifts. That is where you can find them. They sell what they call "Cruise Cash" and bar credits. You can purchase them in $25 denominations. This replaced their bar and soda coupons they used to offer. The cruise cash is a pre paid onboard credit you can use for anything, the bar credits are pre paid money for drinks and sodas. Since I like to have a low bill at the end of the cruise I pre pay for as many things as possible. I also gift my cruise companions with cruise cash, I do the bar credit for my hubby. bdever Posted July 5, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 5, 2014 I have very specific questions regarding the Cheers Program: 1. When ordering the classic cocktails on the program can you still redeem that classic cocktail receipts in the casino for the $5 casino cash coupons? 2. The program stipulates that drinks up to $10.00 in value are included. Does the $10 include gratuity? I want to order a Tiramisu Martini but with gratuity it comes to $10.29, would this drink be excluded from the program? Thanks for your help ;)
stobe1 Posted July 5, 2014 #12 Share Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) What does the size of the ship have to do with it? ;) I say that in jest, of course. For those of you that check your sense of humor with your bags, relax. Edited July 5, 2014 by stobe1
winddawn Posted July 5, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) It is true. For the privilege of taking a 3 day Carnival cruise can now pay $69.95 per day plus 15% gratuity for Cheers instead of $49.95 plus gratuity for taking a 4 day or longer cruise. All people in the same cabin still have to buy Cheers. Yippee! https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/shipboard_knowledge/My_Awesome_Bar_Program.pdf Edited July 5, 2014 by winddawn

Thanks for your help ;) 1) I've done Cheers twice and was able to get the $5 casino match play both times. Just save your receipts. 2) It just has to be lower than $10 on the menu, gratuity is not included in the $10 limit as you pay it up front with Cheers. :p:p:p

If I under spent and the remainder went to the bartender I'd be fine with it. I just had to return to this one because I was wrong. The first thing I did on board was buy a Guinness ...add in tax (while on the mississippi), gratuity, additional gratuity, and I was at 7.58. I sucked it down in 10mins and got nervous about what my final bar bill would be. I knew I could do that 10 times a day. I bought cheers for roughly $250 before gratuity and I kept track of all of my drink prices...final total $424.30. Now I wouldn't have spent that much had I not had cheers. But I had a lot more fun knowing it was already paid for.
