New to Zuiderdam

We have been on the Eurodam and The Nordam, first time on Zuiderdam. Some questions.

 

Do they have laundry rooms, where passengers can wash or touch-up an item with an iron?

 

Has anyone had experience with the drink package/

 

We will be going in and out of the Panama canal. Has anyone been on the shore excursion that HAL offers there? What do they do? Heard Princess offers a train ride to Colon.

No Laundry rooms. Give the unlimited or laundry by the bag packages a try, you won't have the hassle of doing your own laundry.

 

We've done the train from Colon. A very informative excursion, but it makes for a very long day. We highly recommend it.

We did the Gatun to Pacific tour on a ferry. It was very interesting to look down on the activities going through the initial locks on Z and then be able to look up from the ferry. The ferry included a luncheon buffet. Two warnings - the canal uses lots of water to operate and it all comes from the tropical rain forest, so be prepared for rain no matter what trip you do. We were also advised to take a light jacket with us for the bus ride from Panama City back to Colon. It's on a well air-conditioned bus which can feel very cold having been on a small open air boat in hot, humid conditions. Have Fun!!
