How does the past guest treatment work now?

Before after ONE cruise you were gold and I think 15 cruises you were platinum.

Or something like that.

I have only cruised twice my second carnival cruise I got a gold room key and a pin and an invitation to the open bar party.

Now it looks like I am a "red" member with 12 days and I need twelve more to be gold?

When did this start?

When Carnival introduced their VIFP Program, they decided not to grandfather prior Gold members in at the same previous status they had reached. This is similar to what was once considered a level, Milestone, when they were promised by certain company representatives that they would be grandfathered into the highest tier, known now as Diamond. Obviously, this never happened.

It makes sense as there are more repeat travels, and the pins and drinks weren't free.

I just wanted to be one of those people with all kinds of pins.

It isn't a must have, and I gladly paid my $49 for the FTTF to get the perks I wanted most.

Just saw that on the Carnival site and noticed it was a change.
