semocruiser Posted July 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2014 I was wondering if anybody had any pictures of the trundle beds on carnival elation or any of the other ships. We will be sailing for the second time on Carnival Elation on 1/24/15. Last year when my family of three booked we got a room with a king bed and two uppers. However, this year we were only to book a room with a king bed and a trundle bed. I am 6'4" and am kind of nervous about the trundle. I know it will be to short but am hoping i can put a pile of pillows at the end to rest my feet on. Would just like to hear every ones experience with trundle beds. Even if it isn't the most comfortable bed it will be a good trip. I am just so excited to get away again.
cruisecheap Posted July 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2014 We had one on the fantasy. I did not lay on it, but it looked a little smaller than a twin mattress. You will need something for your feet.
Tutontow Posted July 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2014 Look at this thread http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1569532 They have pictures. Quite frankly unless you can sleep in the fetal position you will be miserable.
semocruiser Posted July 6, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted July 6, 2014 it will be ok. i will make it work. I was just curious. It would be hard for me to be miserable on a cruise. Might just have to go sleep on the serenity deck on those comfy loungers.

IPlayWithString Posted July 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2014 We've had two different kinds of extra beds...the first was nothing more than a metal frame with a mattress (no wheels, etc) that leaned up against the wall when not in use. On our last cruise, we had a true trundle that folded up and was shoved against the wall when not in use. You'd have to pile probably 3-4, maybe even 5 pillows to have them equal the height of the bed though.
semocruiser Posted July 7, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted July 7, 2014 That is what I figured, but it will be ok. I will be alright. Any bed on a cruise is perfectly fine. I really appreciate the information. It is a lot of help.
SadieN Posted July 7, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2014 We ended up in a quint on the Inspiration as a guarantee. The trundle is basically a pallet that is short enough to fit under the bed, between the legs. There was some sort of foot extender to make it a regular twin length. Your other option is to request a rollaway.
