summersigh Posted July 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2014 Some cabin categories changed from VA to VE on the Zuiderdam -Rotterdam deck since last year. The cabins are toward the aft on the sides. There are cabins above and below so I'm wondering what caused the change. Any ideas on why the changes? I'm pleased about the change ... I think:D (Other cabins may have changed too but we were following these specific cabins/areas)
jtl513 Posted July 7, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 7, 2014 (edited) Any ideas on why the changes? They hope to increase income by upping the prices on the more popular locations and dropping them on the less popular ones. Before the changes, many VA cabins that were high and far forward or aft were not sold, but given out as free upgrades to people booking guarantees of lower levels. IMHO this could backfire to some extent if the reason that some locations are popular is because they were cheaper. Case in point: the deck 5 VE cabins with small balconies just above the lifeboats. A couple of times we have booked there because it was the lowest priced veranda with a plexiglass railing, but we certainly won't pay a VA price for one now! jtl513 Posted July 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 7, 2014 ... the deck 5 VE cabins with small balconies just above the lifeboats. I should have said the former VE cabins, now VA on Vista ships and V on Signatures.
