Hilton vs W Hotel - Ft Lauderdale

We will be on the Allure in October, however going to spend some extra time in Ft Lauderdale arriving on Friday morning to start our vacation early. We have narrowed it down to the Hilton Ft Lauderdale Beach Resort or the W Hotel. If we stay at the Hilton I receive a discounted rate for a King Suite vs the standard room at the W for the same price. I have read the trip advisor reviews and am just looking for folks thoughts on which is nicer and more relaxing?

Both hotels are very nice, though the W is more upscale. Sometimes the W has a DJ at the pool on weekends which isn't so relaxing but there is a second quieter pool at the west end of the hotel overlooking the intracoastal waterway. The W also has a bar in the lobby that is loud at night (you won't hear it from your room).

This past winter we spent 4 days at the Hilton before going on our cruise. It is right next door to the W Hotel. We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton, which is either a condo or timeshare, but it is not a hotel per se. The suites were newly furnished and in very good condition. The staff is excellent and the restaurants were very good, their happy hour was fun (great bartender too) and they had happy hour tapas that you could order which were very good. The swimming pool was lovely and the hotel was easy to navigate. The W Hotel, is absolutely huge - it looks like anything you would want to do is going to be quite a hike. We could see their swimming pool from our balcony and it looked quite interesting.

The Hilton also arranged for our transportation to the cruiseport for a nominal fee.

Anyway, as far as the Hilton goes - yes, I would stay there again and would recommend it.
