Rare Malamel Posted July 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Quick question - I plan on using cash for my onboard spending. Do I still need to have a credit card registered or do I just tell them I'm paying cash?
garycarla Posted July 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2014 You just tell them you are paying cash. Based on SOME postings here, the amount required ranges from a $100 to $1000+. Nobody seems to get a straight answer. BUT - if you have a credit card, here is a suggestion. Give them that when you check in. Then, during the cruise, stop at the desk and pay down the balance, adding enough to cover all, or almost all your expected expenses. It makes things much easier. And, I am speaking about a credit card, and not a debit card. If you want to read horror stories about debit cards, just do a search on DEBIT.
