Sponge4God Posted July 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Is one beach better than another in Bermuda? We are looking to lay out but also snorkel. We are looking for a good snorkeling spot, calm clear water...thanks Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Forums mobile app
chrisc71 Posted July 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 27, 2014 Check over at the Bermuda board. They will tell you the best beach for snorkeling.
acharris1 Posted July 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2014 If you go to Snorkel Park Beach, wear water shoes!! I'd say half of the people there got cut by the rocks. We did the Bermuda Triangle Snorkel excursion, but the waves were so bad none of us actually got to snorkel. We spent the entire time fighting the waves. Rare shof515 Posted July 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2014 if you go to half moon cay, be prepared to walk down and back up a hill if you take the buses. a cab might be easier

P.S. It is one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen. Walk all the way to the left and go to Jobson's Cove and Warwick Long Bay Beach. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting Bermuda. ~Robin Every Day at Sea is a Great Day Edited July 27, 2014 by meatball_nyc
cperk97 Posted July 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 27, 2014 We are going to Bermuda in Sept on the Breakaway. I have been reading Tobacco Bay is good for snorkeling. Good luck.

VickiD59 Posted July 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 27, 2014 JUST returned.... literally. We went to Horseshoe Baby the first day - beautiful. Beach got very crowded right at the point of entry, but we had planned ahead and knew to go further down to the left. I only did one beach day, but the second day, others in our party went to Warwick, while some went to Church - both received high praises. It was very breezy the second day and both groups said that the beaches had big waves. Also, we didn't bother with the bus/ferry passes - as we were approaching the long line for the passes, we were approached by a gent offering a ride for 7.00 each way. We were enough of a group that we filled up his mini-bus ourselves and for 14.00rt pp we got a little tour with our trip to Horseshoe Bay. Also, we arranged a time for the driver to pick us up. Maybe not the most economical, but it was convenient. They used the same driver the following day as well.
meatball_nyc Posted July 27, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 27, 2014 You're back, VickiD!! So lucky you had big waves at the beach. Ocean at HB was pretty calm our week. We spent 8 hours there. Loved it. Welcome home! Hope you all had a great time and loved Breakaway. ~Robin Every Day at Sea is a Great Day

ASASJ5 Posted July 27, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 27, 2014 We had the best snorkeling at Horseshoe in the little cove - big parrotfish, needlefish and many others but get there early! We were on the first bus from Dockyards at 8:20 and there was no one there. By the time we left at 3 it was wall to wall people. For swimming, the best we've experienced in 3 trips is absolutely Clearwater Beach. It's a bit of a hike (ferry to St. George and then #6 bus) but it's never crowded and the water is beautiful. The first 2 pictures are Horseshoe's cove and the second 2 are Clearwater.
