The Tuckmeister Posted July 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Hi one and all, I'm an absolute newby to cruising and am thinking of booking my first cruise for my wife and I next summer. I have my eyes on the brand spanking new Anthem of the seas for 14 nights sailing from and returning to Southampton. A balcony room looks to be at the top end of our budget and I have been quoted around £4,500 total price including half price gratuities. This is about £100 cheaper than booking direct with Royal Caribbean. As a total novice, how would I even go about selecting one cabin over another identical one in a different part of the ship, should I go with a booking company like iglu or Planet cruise or should I go direct and are there any standard do's and don'ts that a seasoned cruiser would know about that I haven't even thought about? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
wwcruisers Posted July 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2014 Welcome to Cruise Critic! You might be able to get more information on the RC boards. In fact, there is a sub-forum dedicated to Quantum Class (including Anthem). That might be the best place to ask your question. I've included the link, below -- good luck! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=

dorisis Posted July 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2014 A good travel agent who has done a lot of cruising would be most helpful. Ask there and at the RC boards and you will get more advise than you want or need. Take it all with a grain of salt and then enjoy your cruise.
