lbfluffy Posted August 1, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I'm trying to book the Mexican Riviera around March 8th 2015. But the dates show February 28 then not another sailing till March 21st. What's going on during that gap? Thanks
luv2cruise777l Posted August 1, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2014 (edited) I read somewhere the ship is going into dry dock to receive some of the 2.0 stuff. Edited August 1, 2014 by luv2cruise777l

lbfluffy Posted August 1, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Wow that's a short period of time to be in dry dock.
Ontario_Cruiser Posted August 1, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Wow that's a short period of time to be in dry dock. It looks to be about 2.5 weeks - which is longer than most. The dry dock for Freedom's 2.0 upgrades was 2 weeks. The ship is not making money in drydock - they want to keep them absolutely as short as possible so all activities are fully scheduled and they often work around the clock. sailor_jimc Posted August 1, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2014 Yes, that is normal. But if you are looking to book a cruise, you might want to avoid the first one after dry dock. Many times they are still finishing up work and some spaces may still be closed. Freedom's drydock was 2 weeks and they were still working on adding the Suess at Sea and camp ocean areas even into the second cruise after coming out of dry dock... Has often been reported that they are still completing things into the first and second cruises after a drydock on many ships.
