Casino drinks policy?

I've tried searching here but cannot find it. My cousin is an avid Black Jack player and wondered if she plays enough, does she get a Casino drink card? I read "something" about "points" but not sure what it entails. She usually spends around a couple of grand playing. Any info appreciated.

You have to average a bet of at least $25 a hand to have a chance of getting any credits. I have been earning free cruises and the drinks on us card as soon as I walk onto the ship. But this take a lot of gambling. Not to mention you need to be social able with the casino host.

I have had plenty of drinks paid for by the Casino for me...but you must play..... They have been a little more generous in the last year then what they have been in the past... but you still need to put some time in ....they do give out the drink cards there also but you need to have a solid average and a lot of time played

If she's has a "couple of Grands playing...", she wouldn't worry about a few $5 - $10 drinks...

I don't tell her what to do with her money and I suppose she can worry about 2 cents if she wants,,, it's her money.

On average, they are usually looking for $15-$25 per hand/outcome for an average of 2-4 hours per day.

Contrary to popular belief, one hour of $5 per hand blackjack gets you nothing. I see people all the time play $5 blackjack for 20 minutes and then proceed to ask the pit boss for a free drink.

I saw on the Splendor, all the tables scan your card when you start playing.

I thought you needed 1500 points for the drinks on us card. could be wrong

Unless things have recently changed, you do not earn points for table game play. Table games play is tracked by the pit boss and issuance of a "On Us" card or comped drinks is at their discretion.

Points needed varies by length of cruise. I know the 7-day cruises require 1,500.

Just off the Sunshine this morning. Wife and I sat down at Roulette Saturday evening with $100 each. Played for hours with the same money while she chatted with the dealers and pit bosses the whole time. Sunday night we walked in to drink cards waiting for us.

Being social is a definite help.

I agree, being social certainly helps and so does putting in the time at the tables. I am not a big time gambler and generally play minimum bets, but i do usually play three or four hours a day/night. I also never play the slot machines. On my last 7 day cruise we received chocolate covered strawberries in our room on day three, a bottle of champagne at dinner on day four and comped drinks on day 5, all courtesy of the casino.

I recommend introducing yourself to the casino host, tipping the dealers well when you are winning and putting in the time on the tables. I gamble to have fun, getting something extra is just frosting on the cake.

This was my experience on my last cruise. I don't bet much more than the minimum but I'm very social. I got my drink cruise on the 2 full day of a 6 day cruise. they also sent cookies to my cabin.

Just off the Liberty they told me you needed 200 points of table play for a drink card. They calculate differently for example I had 1,400 points for slot play and 130 points for table play. They track your play via the dealer but the pit boss watches for people betting $25 a hand and they log you in a special system. I would suggest if you are going to bet $25 to sit at a $25 dollar table.

I think she plays the $25 min. tables so I will let her know to try and be nice to the pit boss. lol

I definitely don't bet $25 per hand, and I have gotten free drinks from the pit boss, although not the free drink card. I am a $5 bet girl, HOWEVER I consistently put a $1 bet for the dealer on each hand. If I double-down my bet, I double the dealer's bet also. I like the dealer's having some 'skin' in the game.

I usually end up playing for quite a long time, never win a bunch of money, but I mainly do it for the social time. On my last cruise, I was just coming off a medically-supervised fast for weight loss, so I wasn't drinking, but did take the boss up his offer of free drinks for sparkling water. Got a very strange look from him, for sure.

ETA: Oh, and I am going again twice before the end of the year, both on Casino rates. You don't have to be a whale to get some casino perks, but if you are nice to the dealers, and tip consistently, you do get some rewards (beyond the personal satisfaction of making their day a little more special). They do greatly appreciate it, as very few people seem to tip the casino dealers now-a-days, bother on the ships and in Vegas.
