Tip Question ?

Someone mentioned on a previous thread that while each day your account is charged $10 for tipping that steward only gets about $3 of it - why is that?

Here's what I know. Of the $10 daily autotip, $3.45 is a room gratuity and $6.55 is a meal gratuity. These two amounts will show up daily on your shipboard account, not as a lump sum amount. I'm not certain how these amounts are further broken down among the employees such as the room steward and hotel staff and the various dining staff. Maybe someone else does.
