Question about Bernard's tours

For those that have taken Bernard's tour, can I get some needed info

We are really not beach people. Do most people that take the Tour 2, that has about 2hours at a beach, go swimming etc.? If so, do you change into dry clothes afterwards, or just hang out on the beach? Is this the clothing optional beach?

As for Tour 1, what is it like at Marigot? There is a difference of 1/2 hour in the tours. Is this a shopping stop and is there decent shopping or is it more like the Straw market in Nassau? Are there any other things to do there besides shopping?

Cheers

Len

Tour 2 is more for people that want to go swimming at Orient Beach. Most people do not change into dry clothes and try to dry off before getting back in the van. There are restrooms to change of someone wants to. The clothing option is a little further down the beach from where they drop you off. You can easily walk to it if you want.

Marigot is on the waterfront with sidewalk bistros, cafe's and an Open Market with stalls in the center of town. IMO, vendors are not pushy like they are on other islands. Most of the vendors only accept cash, US $ or euros, they are only a few vendors that will accept cc.

Yes there are stores and an array of boutiques to shop in. There are many places to eat or drink in Marigot and also in the Marina, which is a few blocks away from the Open Market. Just ask someone where Marina Port la Royale is, you can not see it from the street. There is also a small mall across the street from the Open Market called Le West Indies Mall which I go quite often when in Marigot.

Marigot has a delicious French Bakery called Sarafina's that many people on the tour stop in to buy some pastries. There's also Fort St. Louis in Marigot, which has some beautiful views when you climb to the top. It may be a little hard to find and don't think you'll have enough time to visit there.
