Balcony on breakaway

I have a room right next to my parents are they able to open up the balcony dividers so we can have one big balcony?

You know, once it's opened (if possible), you lose all your privacy, both in the cabin and out!

While in port it is ok to have your steward open your balcony dividers. Not sure when you are sailing so can't give a definite answer.
