Yes, the pace in the PG is purposely intended to be slow to allow a leisurely experience. Thus, the number of reservations is limited.

 

Good Point and true on other cruise lines as well. People think because they see empty tables it's not full. Not true. The people who booked them have not arrived or there was not trained staff to handle any more than booked properly.

The last time we were on a HAL cruise there was big time NoroVirus. Pinnacle Grill was closed the entire time. Their wait staff had to be sent elsewhere.

While we rather have dinner in a specialty restaurant every night (consider it part of our cost of cruising), we are all right with the food in the MDR on HAL (also Princess & Celebrity) as long as we don't order steak. ;)

Not OK with MDR food on some other cruise lines. :rolleyes:

I have had 8:30 reservations in the PG where the place was practically empty on several occasions. That is our favorite time to go and more often than not we are the last ones there. There are 9:00 and 9:30 reservations available as well.
