MaiTaiMary Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2014 My son is seven years old. We are going to be sailing on Carnival in a few months. I have no idea what he should wear in the dining room. Any suggestions?? For both regular nights and formal. Thanks. :)
cb at sea Posted August 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Carnival is very laid-back. Slacks and collared shirt will be fine every night. Even nice shorts and collared shirt will be fine on casual nights. I would avoid tee shirts, especially with writing/logos.... Sports shoes are fine, too. On "elegant" night, long pants, and button shirt (would he wear a tie?) would be fine.
blondestickchick Posted August 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2014 Our son is 8, this will be his second cruise. We have some nice shorts, several polos and a couple of button-ups for non-formal night dining. He will wear slacks and a nice long sleeved button-up with a tie on formal nights. He was thrilled with his "fancy" shirt. I also purchased some Sperry Top-Siders () as his footwear. He will change out of his dressier clothes after dinner if he decides to go to Camp Carnival. We are probably packing more clothes for him than we are ourselves!!
