Flying into Miami, cruising out of FLL

Help...I have searched these boards and I know the answer is here, just cant find it. My husband and I are flying into Miami and need shuttle service to our hotel in Fort Lauderdale. I would then need a shuttle from the port back to Miami. We don't mind renting a car one way when we get to Miami, but don't want to hassle with it when we get off the ship and need to get back to Miami. Out flight leaves Miami at 12:30...any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Renting a car is a good option when you fly into MIA - the wheels give you some shopping/dining options for the night before your cruise. If you are not in a rush, can handle your own bags, and want to save $$ you could ride the Tri-Rail train from MIA to the Fort Lauderdale stop closest to your hotel and then shuttle/cab from there.

Check with SuperShuttle, Go Airport and American Shuttle for quotes from MIA to your hotel and from Port Everglades to MIA; my guess is that for two the cost will be aobut the same ($80+) as just hopping into a cab for the 45+ minute trip.
