divadee007 Posted August 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2014 I play regularly at uk casinos but not played on a cruise casino before and not played in any American casinos. Anything I have to watch out for? Here I play roulette or BJ (and I like perfect pairs on black jack). Craps I have played once, didn't understand it, had fun, but ultimately just lost money. Thanks in advance.
sailor_jimc Posted August 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 21, 2014 The cruise roulette wheels have a 0 and 00 on them. And they use a continuous shuffling machine for the black jack games (except for the game "Fun 21" which is a BJ variant that the alter the rules which would seem to favor the player but they then remove the queens from the decks which decreases the number of 10's in the shoe which brings the odds back into the house's favor... I'm not really sure there is anything else that is terribly different. They will have the "how to Play" booklets near each table game if you see something you are unfamiliar with. You can also ask the dealers how to play as they are very used to people who have never gambled before coming up to a table. Since you have been to a casino before and know most of what is going on, learning the new games will be easy, if you are familiar with your poker hands, most of the other table games are easily explained. Grandpaul Posted August 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2014 There will also be playing lessons on board. And as Sailor mentioned the dealers will explain the games. Craps is one of the better(or it should be "Bettor") games to play if you play it correctly. But the minimums are going up a bit which can be more costly. Basic strategy in Blackjack helps some too. Check that out on your computer.
cb at sea Posted August 24, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 24, 2014 The odds on the ship are not as generous as in Vegas....and you will have a bunch of folks at your table (not so bad in roulette, but can kill you in BJ!) that have no clue what they're doing.!
