Tumblers From Red Frog and Cantina

I don't know if you'll be back to check this thread or not, but if so, I definitely recommend getting both the first day if you're wanting them both. Before our most recent cruise on Carnival Liberty this past April, I saw a comment on another thread that if you want the "Red Frog" Tervis tumbler to get it that first day because they sold out quickly and never got more in during that person's cruise. We had just the opposite. I got Red Frog the first day and went to get the Blue Iguana the second day & was told they were "sold out" and to check back the next day in case there were more. I checked back and they hadn't gotten any in. I was told then that in the middle of the week they may or may not get another supply. I hadn't seen any until day 5 but they had just the tumbler and not the lids. Finally, toward the end of the week, we were up there and noticed they had more Blue Iguana tumblers and lids, so I got one right away. The Red Frog never seemed to run out on our cruise.

Just a word of caution. If you have sunscreen on your hands it will mess up the finish on the outside. I did this many years ago and had someone tell me, some years later, about sunscreen. Now, Tervis has a warning on their website about washing your hands before handling your tumbler.

I *need* both of these. :) are you buying them in the gift shop or certain bars?

They are sold at the bars of the same name ie: Red Frog at the Red Frog Rum Bar, Blue Iguana at the Blue Iguana Cantina. They are only available on ships that have these venues - ones with the 2.0 upgrades.

How many ounces do they hold? Can I bring it into the casino with me when I play?

They are 16 ounce tumblers. Yes, you can take them into the casino with you. The casino sent me a bottle of wine to my cabin and I poured my wine into the tumbler to take it to the dining room with me during sea day brunch. It wasn't very classy, but beat having to pay a corkage fee to enjoy my wine. Since the tumblers are insulated, they do a good job of keeping your beverage hot or cold.

The ones with the Carnival logo were platinum gifts a while back and could not be purchased. The other 2, the Blue Iguana and the Red Frog, can be purchased at those bars on the Lido deck for about $15 each. I like them because they don't sweat in the heat.

I didn't get a red cover with mine on the Liberty :-(

Fortunately they charge the lid and tumbler separately , so they should not have charged you. The lids are typically available at places like Bed Bath and Beyond or directly from Tervis.

My red lids, one on a Carnival tumbler (platinum gift) and one on my Red Frog Rum tumbler both came with the tumblers. I did not have to purchase them separately.

Of course the Platinum gift would come with it. It's free. The ones you buy don't "come" with the lids. They are actually separate. Only twice did they tell me that out of my four purchases but it all got rung up together so if they didn't say anything, you would never know the difference.
