LHARTWICK Posted August 26, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I thought it would be fun for cruisers to post pics of their decorated cabin doors. This would give others design ideas as well as to hopefully encourage more people to decorate. I love to see doors decorated on cruises, especially for special occasions. I'll be decorating our cabin door for the first time on our October Valor cruise to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. :) Can't wait! (I know we can go to the photo section of the boards and do a search, but I thought it would be nice to have a post dedicated to it.)

kenphy Posted January 18, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 18, 2015 We always decorate our door and I will post a picture when we sail away just 5 weeks from tomorrow. Did you know most of the doors are metal and you can put up magnetic signs? I buy the magnetic paper at staples or Office Depot and spend hours on power point to get it just right before I print. Another fun thing to get you in the mood Sent from my iPhone using Forums
kenphy Posted January 18, 2015 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2015 Forgot to say I always bring double stick tape just in case the door isn't magnetic Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Steftacular Posted January 26, 2015 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2015 Here are pictures from two of my cabins. The "ahoy" one I used painters tape since I was guilted out if using scotch tape because of residue - the door didn't even make it through the first night :/ oh well! The steward sure knew who we were lol. I've seen some creative ones. I took a picture of the saloon door someone else did on my last cruise, how fun! The two I decorated were cruises out of TX. Its easy when you drive to port. I dont know that I'll do it on my next cruise out of San Juan, that's valuable luggage space! LHARTWICK Posted January 26, 2015 Author #9 Share Posted January 26, 2015 So fun, Steftacular! Thanks for sharing!! We've only started decorating our door/cabin on our last 2 cruises. We love it! I also love seeing the way other cruisers decorate. We've also discovered how handy magnets are inside the cabin as well. We use them to hold important docs on the wall near the door so we don't forget them, like free drink coupons! :)

grandmacani Posted February 4, 2015 #13 Share Posted February 4, 2015 Here's mine. Dollar store witch. I loved walking down the hall and hearing comments. Packs easy in flat package then you puff the hat. Been a standby on my past 2 halloween cruises and will go on the vista halloween cruise. againin13 Posted June 1, 2015 #17 Share Posted June 1, 2015 That sounds like so much fun. The only decoration I've done so far is a three dimensional flower magnet. But even that's nice to see down the hall Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Flagrandma Posted July 18, 2015 #19 Share Posted July 18, 2015 What does everyone use to attach the posters etc. on the door. Are there magnetic pictures/posters? What does everyone use? TIA
jevvv Posted July 19, 2015 #20 Share Posted July 19, 2015 I used a combination of Blutak and actual magnets
LHARTWICK Posted July 20, 2015 Author #21 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I use magnets. Along with some I've picked up at WM, I've started buying one or two in our ports of call with the port name on it. Makes an interesting collection. Also, I believe the cruise lines frown on using tape on the walls. At least that's what I've read on these boards. I also use the magnets to post items on the inside of the cabin, like excursion tickets, free drink coupons, the cruise itinerary, etc. Very handy!! suznsundiego Posted August 20, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 20, 2015 I'm sailing to Alaska on Saturday with my 2 sisters. I'm surprising them with a fully decorated door including lots of pictures of us growing up. I found lots of blue fishies that I am writing mushy sister quotes on...just want to tell them how much their big sissie loves them. And... after 57 years they are still my best friends! I will post a picture when we return. We will be the 3 elderly women raising chaos or just hanging out with a couple of drinks giggling away
