jocap Posted August 29, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2014 So far, P&O hasn't charged for the launderette on any ship. I think if they tried to do that on Britannia, there would be an outcry! Either bring your own washing powder/ tablets, though or buy from the shop. catperson02 Posted August 30, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 30, 2014 I took some 2 in 1 washing tablets, the water on the ship is so soft that I only needed one per wash. Depending on how long you are cruising/how many washes you anticipate a couple of packs of 2 don't take up much space.

CraftyEC Posted August 30, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 30, 2014 I take a washing ball (from Lakeland) on cruises. It's light and compact and is still going strong after several trips. I have to be somewhat careful about 'unknown' detergents or risk DH's eczema flaring up, so I'm always happier to carry my own, but I don't want to take powders or liquids. Modern 'tablet' detergents would work well too.
jocap Posted September 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2014 When we sailed on Sea Princess in 2006, the launderettes were free, but I read on here not long after that Princess had started charging, so I'm slightly surprised that their sister line P&O still doesn't charge.....Ssshhh....;)
