Why do you have to call Princess to change your "title?"

I don't understand why you have to call Princess to change your title? If you try to do it while logged in, it won't let you. Below are the titles available:

 

Mr.

Mrs.

Dr.

Miss

Master

Admiral

Commodore

Captain

Father

I know what you mean ....Princess has me as Ms. and I was married on the Sapphire Princess in 2005. I still have to call to get it changed, but just haven't yet.

I just did this...been wrong for a couple of years and got tired of looking at it when I signed into Princess.

 

Easy enough to do, just called and told them it was wrong, and CS changed it. Took all of 2 minutes.

The military titles listed are also civilian maritime titles.

 

As far as requiring titles, that might be a holdover from P&O days. Also, some people do like having a title acknowledged.

 

I didn't look to see if it is already there but a simple option would be to have no title at all.
