Hi all, we will be sailing on the Liberty in Oct. We would like to stay in Port Canaveral on Friday night and take a Hotel shuttle to the port in the morning.

What would be the best transportation option from Orlando to the Port?

Thanks in advance for your help

Assuming you are flying into Orlando that day, you may want to consider renting a car one-way to Port Canaveral. There are at least 5 car rental companies within a few miles of the port that you can drop the car off. Plus they are in range of the hotels as well. Just do a search for rental cars at Cape Canaveral. I know of Enterprise, Budget, Avis, and Hertz that are all at the port.

We always do one way car rentals with Alamo. Pick up at MCO or the Disney Car Care center if we are staying at Disney World. Love having a car so that we can explore, go out to eat and buy our soda/water.

We've never paid more than about $24-$30 for a one-way 24 hour car rental. Can't beat it. The morning of the cruise you return the car to the Alamo office in Port Canaveral and they shuttle you for free to the cruise ship. Reverse after the cruise. Shuttles were waiting for us and took us to get our car. Fast and efficient.

Happy sailing.

We do the one way car rental as we'll. We've used Dollar, Thrifty, and Avis. I would recommend any of them.

The best part is you can drive through the terminal and drop your bags off before returning the car. That way you don't have to lug bags in and out of a shuttle.

Also you should try the Luggage Express for the return home. We did this last weekend. It was awesome. We set the bags outside the door the night before debarkation and never touched them again until we pulled them off the baggage carousel in Nashville. It was worth every penny.
