richfret Posted September 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Years ago, you could go to Atlanta and walk the hotel lobby, visit the Casino and Mall and view a small part of the aquarium for no charge. I think that has now changed. Do they now collect a fee at the door? What is available to view without a charge, if any thing. The beach is of no concern to me nor do I want to purchase a room. kydesperado Posted September 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2014 Just stayed at the Atlantis a few weeks ago. If you are not a guest you can only access the casino and the shops inside for free. The aquarium and digs are extra. There are the shops and restaurants in the marina village that's there free as well.
Yari mommy of 2 Posted September 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 4, 2014 To go into atlantis no charge to go past the casino you need a wrist band. Security at those doors. So shopping, casino. No charge.
cruiseapril Posted September 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Sometimes we just take a taxi over to walk around Marina Village and see the yachts and shops. We visit the casino. Have also paid to see the aquarium. We then do another excursion in Nassau.
mericker Posted September 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2014 Was there Friday 9/12/14 and no charge for marina area, casino and shops. Security checks you before you enter Royal Tower where the aquarium and digs are located.

Dang, that IS a change from my first cruise in 2010, where we were able to wander a bit further into the complex (the big dome, the big blue dragon sculptures, etc.) Not sure I want to cough up taxi fare just for a chance to look at the casino and some overpriced shops. Might just stay on the ship or walk to Junkanoo Beach.

Have also paid to see the aquarium. We then do another excursion in Nassau. I have read that visitors can't access the hotel lobby anymore. Is that correct? Can you still see the big throne w/o paying for the aquarium pass? Can't remember if that is part of the casino...
cathysmom Posted September 28, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Hi, Could someone let me know approximately what it costs to take a taxi to the Atlantis? (I have a couple of ladies who will like to visit the casino.) What method of payment? And is there a long walk to/from taxi stands? Thanks! Rare CruisinCrow Posted September 28, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 28, 2014 Hi, Could someone let me know approximately what it costs to take a taxi to the Atlantis? (I have a couple of ladies who will like to visit the casino.) What method of payment? And is there a long walk to/from taxi stands? Thanks! The taxi (shared van) costs $4 a person plus tip. You pay cash, American dollars are fine. The walk to the taxis from port depends on where your ship is docked. It's a long walk if you're at the farthest dock, but I've seen shuttles.
