GAJE Posted September 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 4, 2014 We will be cruising on the Prinsendam next summer. One of our many ports will be Edinburgh. A tour provider is wanting to know whether we will actually dock in Rosyth (as the itinerary shows) for Edinburgh or possibly South Queensferry which is a lot closer. If anyone has had experience with this recently, I would greatly appreciate knowing where the Prinsendam actually docked. Thank you! Betty
Fouremco Posted September 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 4, 2014 While there is a yacht club in Queensferry, it had no facilities that could handle even a small cruise ship. Rosyth is opposite Queensferry, on the north side of the Firth of Forth, and only a couple of minutes further away from Edinburgh by car.
ChaCr Posted September 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2014 The two times we were in Edinburgh, we docked at Rosyth. charles

Rare Hlitner Posted September 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) We would add that on our most recent visit (Ruby Princess) we tendered right into South Queensferry. I do not recall a pier that would be able to handle cruise ships. The advantage of Rosyth is that you do not have to tender and that is where we docked several years ago when on the Prinsendam. Both locations offer access to public transit which is a much cheaper option for those who want to simply DIY.
