Bringing Soda on Board Rhapsody

I've been reading the Royal Caribbean board about carrying soda on when you board. I know the rules say you can't but is sounds like it is over looked most of the time when sailing out of the US. Do you think I would be able to bring canned soda on board Rhapsody in Sydney?

Soda / soft drinks are no problem to take on board.....or at least they were last summer and cannot see any reason it will change.

At worst you could "donate" the soda to the check in staff at the pier:D:D

What's a good method to bring soda on board Rhapsody of the Seas? On Norwegian we just duct taped two 12 packs together, attached a luggage tag and sent the whole thing with our checked bags. I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks!
