ccdaniel2707 Posted September 8, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Are you booked early saver? How did you get that? I'm curious because I have a cruise next month :D
Carnival_Brides Posted September 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) We got another $40 price drop. When we booked in June for Thanksgiving on the Freedom, we were in 4J interiors for $1166--we're now in 8C balconies for $1122. Not too shabby. We seem to rack up the majority of our price drops on the Past Guest/72 hour sales. Edited September 8, 2014 by Carnival_Brides
cynthe66 Posted September 8, 2014 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2014 I just wonder how everyone is getting these, I'm booked early saver and by the time prices started dropping my category was sold out and was told I couldn't get any obc because of that. cynthe66 Posted September 8, 2014 #5 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Heres another question...if I booked through an agent and the payment is final do I have to go through them to request a price drop or can I request it through Carnival myself? You have to go through the TA
cynthe66 Posted September 8, 2014 #7 Share Posted September 8, 2014 Great, guess no price drops for me being she doesn't answer her phone and lets it go to voice mail and doesn't respond to my emails....this is the last time I use a TA. I'll go straight through Carnival next time. It would be nice for the price drops but it's not worth the hassle to try and get ahold of her anymore. pokergirl34 Posted September 8, 2014 #8 Share Posted September 8, 2014 How long did it take to get your approval email? I submitted mine last night anf I have not received an approval or rejection yet. Thanks
Mr305 Posted September 8, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 8, 2014 (edited) In addition to checking what you paid, I recommend checking different room options. For example, I currently have an Ocean View Deluxe on the Breeze for November. For $30 more, I'm able to get a Cove Balcony, never seen an upgrade to a balcony for such a minimal amount. Largolady22 Posted September 8, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 8, 2014 We are AAA members and used them twice to book cruises. They are pretty blah about it. We now book directly with our agent "Gary" at Carnival, he is terrific, does help a lot, he listens spends the time, guides us and answers all our questions. And he is not pushy either. He always answers his phone and gives his cell phone too.:)
mum2bradley Posted September 8, 2014 #11 Share Posted September 8, 2014 I used a TA last year and it was the last time. This year I just submit a form and it is done. Just checked and another $120 off for my NYE cruise! Sweet!
mommiemudd Posted September 8, 2014 #12 Share Posted September 8, 2014 We are cruising next month. We were booked ES. Racked up enough OBC to get a balcony for $128 more. Then thanks to price drops we are back up to $140 OBC. Worked well for me! My Carnival PVP did the first few price drops for me but I figured out the form and just do it myself now. evanAction Posted September 8, 2014 #13 Share Posted September 8, 2014 How long did it take to get your approval email? I submitted mine last night anf I have not received an approval or rejection yet. Thanks If you haven't gotten it yet, you should call. The last agent I spoke with said they gladly do them over the phone, no problems at all....she said she's seen it too many times where something wasn't right on the form, was denied, etc.
mum2bradley Posted September 8, 2014 #14 Share Posted September 8, 2014 What rate are you all getting your price drop under? I just looked on another thread and they are saying it is for new bookings only. I did put in a price adjustment but have not heard back.

cynthe66 Posted September 8, 2014 #17 Share Posted September 8, 2014 I thought about doing that but with the inside rooms, but I'm not really wanting to give up my panaroma deck. So I'll forget about trying to get a obc and keep my cabin

jenn6743 Posted September 9, 2014 Author #25 Share Posted September 9, 2014 I booked with the early saver rate, and it was the past passages sale.... I never use a TA, I find I do a better job of getting deal. I received my confirmation email just a fee minutes after getting off the phone....
