Operating time of Alamo Shuttle from Port Everglades to FLL Airport

Hi,

 

From reading the forums I understand Alamo has a shuttle between FLL airport and port everglades.

 

We will be getting off the ship at 8am, will the shuttle be able to pick us up or do they start picking up people later in the day?

I hope someone answers you. We need to know if taxis are at the port already to take people to the airport or do we have to call someone to get us.

There are lots of taxis at the port - and the ride is short (10-15 minutes). You can see the port from the airport (last February my brother and SIL were flying out of FLL and we were boarding a cruise at Port Everglades. They called from the airport to say they could see our ship :p).

We rented a car the day prior to cruise departure for convenience and yes, the shuttle does exist. Unfortunately, I can't answer your question because we only took the shuttle TO the port, not returning. I assume you can get a phone number and attempt to reserve a time for pickup.

 

Personally, taxis seem easier to me. There are taxis waiting, and if I recall, handlers to point you in the right direction when you disembark. Taxi was easy and it was a quick trip to FLL.

In my experience, even though they have a phone number, it doesn't get answered. The shuttle is the full size bus type that makes the rounds of multiple ships. If you're not in a big hurry, it's fine. Otherwise you'll get there much faster in a cab.
