Carnival Freedom - Best deck to relax in the shade?

My DH and I like to read and relax in the shade. Where are the best spots for this? Also, suggestions for first lunch - in a quieter atmosphere than the buffet would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, Dec 10 aft, kind of below the walking track there is an area on either side of the ship with deck chairs. Depending on the direction the ship is travelling, one may be sunny and the other shady. But generally a quiet area to relax.

 

There is also the serenity area, but it can be sunny. We did not use it much as we have kids.

Deck 3 right outside the lobby. It's right under the lifeboats. On our first cruise, there were lounge chairs lined up all along that area on both sides of the ship. Now they have them stacked up but you can put them down. It's the tan shaded area called "exterior deck". http://www.carnival.com/cruise-ships/carnival-freedom.aspx#deck/3
