To me it matter of economics and use of vacation days - do I buy a balcony for 7 days for $2,000 and go once a year ? Or buy a interior for less or about $1,000 for 7 days and go on another 7 day for $1,000 later that year/season? A no brainer for me.[emoji57]

After 15 cruises we have had every kind of room (except Suite - we like to cruise 2-4 times a year, instead of once). For us the itinerary sets the room - balconies (AFT preferred) in the Caribbean, insides in Europe when every day is go, go, go and no real sea days, and ocean view when we have sea days but the weather is chilly. We found that napping in an inside is wonderful - I told DH it was like being two puppies in a crate, we will snooze the afternoon away:p

So for us itinerary and budget should dictate the room unless you have issues with insides.

Just wondering what we are missing out on when it comes to rooms ... I know we are rookies when it comes to cruising, but, we just book an inside room and seem to have a whole lotta fun ... We went over our first cruise and found we spent minimum amounts of time in our room .. like sail off day, just put up stuff, showered and slept later ... around midnight or so ..then 1st cruise day, woke at 6 am. quick shower, coffee on pool deck, breakfast at 8, then changed clothes, swimming and buffet lunch, room at 5 ish, showered, back out , casino, exploring, ate dinner at 8 ish, lounge, comedy club, etc, etc, then sleep around midnight or 1 am, then, in am, shower, breakfast, excursion, back on ship later, shower, dinner, relaxed on deck, comedy club, karaoke laughs, etc, sleep midnight or so...

Was day after day like that, maybe it's us, but we really didn't spend much time in room .. is it cause we are new at it ?? Wife said she would sooner have a watch or some jewelry instead .. lol

what are missing out on ?? :)

If you had a balcony you would probably have your morning coffee out there. When sailing into or out of ports you'd probably enjoy watching from your balcony. BUT if you enjoy your cruises in an inside cabin and like saving the money then of course there is no right or wrong it's opinion.

Just checking the message boards as I plan to set sail on November 3 on the Star. AND I remember the spa lounges, I saw them the last time I cruised. I know there are fees for this. Wondering how much it is. Do you ladies have a ball park amount for those spa lounges? I do have a balcony but I was wondering if the spa lounge would be a fun thing to do, but I can't blow all my money on that so I have to plan!

AND I sailed from Venice on a cruise 3 years ago. It was stunning. You will love it!
