Pool music on Freedom

When we were on the Radiance of the Seas last, they played calypso and reggae music around the pool the majority of the time, which we really enjoyed. However, when we sailed on Carnival Breeze and NCL Epic, the music around the pool was top 40 pop, which really didn't create a vacation atmosphere. What kind of music do they play poolside on Freedom nowadays? Is it live or recorded?

Every time I've been on FOS, it has been Caribbean.

When we were on Freedom in July, there was a live band who played Caribbean/Calypso music. They were great!

 

What struck us as unusual was what played on the big screen when the live band wasn't playing ~ a combo of Make-A-Wish stories, sporting events, and hip hop/rap videos. None of it was objectionable, just an odd mix.
