USA Today has a nice photo spread of the Mardi Gras, Carnivale and Festivale.

My first cruise was on the Carnival. Looking at the pictures brought back a lot of memories. I sailed her before they changed all the wood and replaced with wall paper. I remember when I first sat foot on her I thought how is thing going to float with 950 passengers.... Wow how things have changed!

Thanks for sharing the link!

In Jan. 1991 I took my first cruise aboard the Mardi Gras, a 3 nighter from Port Canavral to Nassau Bahamas. I think my room was in the very belly and evidently next to the engine room, tiny little room. Small ship, rough seas = lots of sick folks.

We sailed the Mardi Gras. It was fun to look at the pictures and remember our first cruise. We could even pick out the table where we ate our first lunch on Lido deck! The buffet consisted of tacos and chicken wings. LOL Cindy

LOL, but I thought Carnival food has been downgraded since those good ol' days.... at least that's what you'd think listening to all the folks on this board.
