February temperatures

I'm thinking of booking a cruise in early February with my sister. I want to take her to Grand Cayman and swim with the stingrays but am worried about it being to cool to want to hop in the water..

Has anyone got any experience with this time of year?

My husband and I have done the captain Marvin's sting ray excursion a few times and LOVED it but we've never been that time of year.

Is it to chilly? Would it be better to go to the Bahamas and do a stingray excursion there ?? Or would it be the same either way??

Cayman is deeper into the Caribbean than the Bahamas, if there is a difference in water temperature I would think that the Cayman water would be the warmer. Since it is in the tropics the variation in outside temperature will be no where as cold as the US. You should have no problem with the Cayman excursion.

Thanks! I can't wait to take her to experience it. She will love it.

The entire cruse will kind of be a 'rerun' cruise for me but it will all be new for her .

We were there (Stingray City) in January or February a few years ago and it was very warm, mid to upper 80s. Water temp was awesome!!

I would think Grand Cayman would be warmer than the Bahamas. I thought the Bahamas were a bit chilly in January.

We cruised out of FLL the first week of February of this year. We had a wonderful time. Left north Alabama were it was in the 20s, got to FL and it was the 80s. Key West was a wonderful 82, Grand Cayman it was almost 90 and the ocean was a bit chilly at first and then perfect.

We cruised the grand cayman route the first week of February and it was HOT. We found a beach and just hung out and it was perfect. We always go in February to escape the cold Missouri winters

The Bahamas are NOT in the Caribbean...those islands are in the Atlantic! The weather in the Bahamas is like Florida weather.

Grand Cayman IS in the Caribbean, and while it will be a tad cooler than in July, it's still warm enough to get wet, especially, if you get hot enough! It's south enough that the US cold fronts won't affect it.

It's always summer in the Caribbean so you'll have no problem swimming with the stingrays or doing any other water activity in Grand Cayman. :)

In the Bahamas the water temperatures are quite chilly in the winter months. :(
