wdblake Posted August 17, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2005 Our ship makes a short stop on Margarita Island and I need to find a quiet clean beach close to the port. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have heard the beach right by the port is crowded and smelly.
gizmo Posted August 18, 2005 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2005 I believe most of the good beaches are on the other side of the island, maybe 45-60 drive each way. Here are a couple of links you may want to look at. http://www.islamargarita.com/lagunalarestinga.htm http://www.casatrudel.com/crusin-n-style.htm http://www.venezuelatuya.com/margarita/larestingaeng.htm http://www.islamargarita.com/islamargaritaa.htm
klouised Posted August 20, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 20, 2005 The beach at the port is sometimes smelly depending on if the wind is blowing across the salt flats a certain way. The beach is so so crowded, unless there are 2 ships in that day. There are no beaches close by. They are all at least 45 minutes away. If you go to another beach you will be pestered by the vendors. If you are having a short day there you might want to think about skipping the beach and do some shopping. There is great shopping with good prices. You can also go see the mangroves. That is very enjoyable for many people and relaxing, too.
