A few questions from a (hopeful) Thomson newbie!

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I think (very much hoping) that I have talked Mr C into a last minute Thomson cruise in November :D :D :D I just have a few little questions i can't find an answer to:

What happens on the day you leave if you aren't flying until late in the evening? Do they kick you out of your room and leave you at the airport all day? On NCL they dumped us at the airport from 7.30am regardless of the time of the flight, but P&O let us stay on the ship (albeit wanting us out of the room for 7am) until they were ready to take us to the airport 3hrs before the flight.

We are looking at the Majesty and I just wondered what the Casino was like? Do they have cash poker games or poker tournaments or craps tables?

Do they show sport (e.g. Football) on the TV in your room or in a pub? Are there any TV channels in the rooms?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there and welcome to the Thomson forum.

No they don't kick you off the ship! You will have to vacate the cabin by 10am but if you fly after lunch you can book a slot in a courtesy cabin to freshen up before you leave the ship. You leave in time to be taken to the airport- say about three hours before your flight. In the meantime you can enjoy all the facilities on the ship.

Yes there is a TV in your cabin with a few channels on.

Sorry don't know the answers to the casino question but Dave will be along soon to answer that query!

Am i getting a reputation:eek:

There is a small casino with roulette, blackjack, 5 card carribean stud poker plus i think a poker table? I think there was a texan hold em tournament but no craps table. there are slots as well but nothing really modern. It is a pretty low key operation with very small table limits. A maximum of £2 straight up on roulette so no one is going to win big money there :( Maximum bet on blackjack is £10. Not a casino to win big money in but the staff are nice. Ok for entertainment and people watching.

ps -blackjack is british style with the dealer not checking for blackjack so adjust your basic strategy accordingly.

Flopsy - that's a massive relief! And thank you for the welcome, I hope to be around for a while, I have been hankering after a Thomson cruise for a while and think I have finally ground him down :D

Dave - that's a bit of a relief actually! As good as Mr C is at poker, he is flipping terrible at blackjack! He will win a decent amount but it's all gone (and them some every) within about 10minutes!

I think those answers will really help my case - I'm just really hoping they have sky sports in a bar so he can watch some football!?

Thank you!

Dave, you already have a reputation....:p:D:D

Not really any football showing:mad: the cabin TV's have sky sports news and sky news, bbc world, a couple of movie channels showing films on a loop.

No sports bar like on the NCL ships, however there are reports that they showed England matches early this year when the World cup was on. I have never known them to show any premiership matches.
