Karysa Posted October 20, 2014 #26 Share Posted October 20, 2014 I totally agree with you LauraS. The pertinent Ebola info related to cruising was posted on cc where it belongs, in the news section.
maywell Posted October 20, 2014 #27 Share Posted October 20, 2014 You don't have to explain yourself, LauraS - me and every other poster with common sense knows CC is independent news / travel website. To confuse CC with a certain US government health agency would be folly, to say the least. Sent from my SGH-T399 using Tapatalk
wwcruisers Posted October 20, 2014 #28 Share Posted October 20, 2014 Yes -- to anyone watching the news, this last week, it would quickly become apparent that even the CDC doesn't know what protocol to enforce. Why on earth would anyone expect a leisure & travel website to have all the answers, when the government agency in charge does not?
Raxter54 Posted October 20, 2014 #29 Share Posted October 20, 2014 The above all said, these forums are cruiser-to-cruiser. It would be impossible for Cruise Critic to counter every piece of information on these forums w/ what some would believe to be the correct answer. In the case of this Ebola incident, there were hundreds of posts across many many forums created by members. If you want news: we've got it. Read our News. We have a dedicated team of editors whose job it is to vet out the incorrect, contact cruise lines/those in the know and report the facts. Laura Well said, madam. We are happy that CC is not in the heavy-handed censoring business. You seem to crack down when necessary, but otherwise allow a free flow of opinions and ideas. Much appreciated :)
