Sheltieluv Posted October 23, 2014 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Hi all We are considering the May 1, 2015, San Fransisco -- Alaska cruise on the Navigator. The cruise ends in Vancouver on May 10. If we have Regent handle our air arrangements, do they typically put you on a "red eye" out of Vancouver? (We have always taken care of our own air, as we've sailed on the Navigator from Florida, but in this case their price for airfare to the West Coast looks to be cheaper than what I can do on my own from Syracuse, NY.) If I pay the deviation fee to pick our own flights, would an 11 a.m. flight be too early after debarking the ship? Or should we overnight in Vancouver and leave the day after? Sorry for all the questions, but I've not dealt with Regent Air before. Anyone who has flown back East from YVR, I'd appreciate any and all advice! Thanks!:)
Wendy The Wanderer Posted October 23, 2014 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2014 The airport isn't very close to the port in Vancouver, but transportation options are good. But then you have to get off the ship and through the port. When we did this it went smoothly, but you never know. What time does disembarkation begin, do you know? If I did Regent Air, I'd deviate so I could at least be involve in deciding on flights. And of course, Vancouver is a great destination in its own right, so a day or two extra might add to your holiday.
Sheltieluv Posted October 23, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted October 23, 2014 Hi Wendy Thanks for your reply. According to the Regent website, the itinerary states 7 a.m. for Vancouver. I'm assuming we'd have to clear customs/immigration at the port? I'd probably be stressing about making an 11 a.m. flight; not the most fun way to end a vacation....
