In San Juan now AOS tomorrow

Arrived at 7 p.m. on Friday Aug 19th for our AOS cruise on Aug 21. That is the time to arrive at San Juan, the airport was empty and the taxis plentiful. It was $21 from airport to our hotel Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino. We were in our room by 8 p.m. It is a lovely room on the ground floor overlooking the pool and ocean. Right now (Saturday morning) it is overcast as there are the remnants of a tropical depression off to the north of the island. I can highly recommend this hotel so far.

Glad to hear you like the hotel, we are booked there for our cruise on AOS in October! I had heard that there was some construction going on at the hotel is this true? $21.00 for a cab wow, how many people was that? I hope you have a great trip and can't wait to hear your review when you get back!:)

There is construction going on at this hotel - right now, if you are looking at the hotel from the beach, the construction is on the left side of the main tower. They seem to be repairing balconies there. We are in the Cabana wing (at 90degrees to the tower) which is only 9 floors high and there is no construction here. There is a Starbucks across the road, a Walgreens and several clothing shops and cafes, but there are also some derelict buldings and construction sites ---- you wouldn't see that if you just stayed in the hotel grounds.

Thanks VacationNut! I am booked in April to come in to San Juan at about the same time and to the same hotel. Makes my day that you find things to be good and that is the quietest time to be in the airport.
