cruisegirl1 Posted November 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2014 I believe the closest is Red Stripe Beach. RCCL offers an excursion there and I am sure others lines would also. We were in Falmouth a few weeks ago and saw transportation (inside the Falmouth gate) for $30 PP RT to that beach. We did not bother - but will keep it in mind for the future. Blondie70 Posted November 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) From the research I've done, the good ones seem to be east down the northern border towards Runaway Beach (before you get to Ocho Rios) or west towards Montego Bay. Looks like anywhere from a 30 min-1.5 hour cab ride either way can get you to a nice one. Of course, you can go farther than that and find some awesome beaches all the way around the island. Just trying to stay as close to Falmouth as possible. Falmouth doesn't appear to be known for its beaches! Anyone else with new info, please chime in!! R & T Posted November 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2014 We went to Red Stripe beach last week on a RCCL excursion. It was very good. Beach is small, private, clean, has bathroom, bar, food, and a lifeguard. Staff was very friendly & helpful but not pushy. It was only a 10 min. bus ride away. We were told definitely not to take a taxi in Jamacia. We meet some one who did and they said the driver was smoking weed.
tartan cruiser Posted November 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2014 We're considering this because we'll have young children with us. Are chairs included with the RCCL excursion or did you have to pay extra for them? Also any shade? Thanks for you help.

There is plenty of shade and they will put your chair where ever you like.
