slgarcia77 Posted November 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2014 We are researching our excursion options ahead of our 2/8/15 Carnival Magic cruise. I see a lot of them show that kids ages 5 and under are free, but do they verify ages? My five year old is TALL...obviously we'll have our paperwork and passports with us, but is this something that they check? I just want to be prepared! cb at sea Posted November 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2014 If it's a ships excursion, they have everyone's birthdate on file. It's unlikely they'll check...we had the same issue with our son, who was tall for his age! Once, a ticket taker asked how old he was...to him!... They kept saying, "You're 5 aren't you? You're 5, right?"...Pissed me off royally...as he was 3 and didn't know what to make of that. Just assert yourself on your child's behalf.
kitkat343 Posted November 4, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) If it is a private excursion you are worried about, you can xerox a copy of your child's passport and bring that with you if anyone questions your child's age. The ship knows how old your child is, and should automatically charge the right amount. Edited November 4, 2014 by kitkat343
