eddeb Posted November 9, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) We Left Tampa on the Megabus.com. We had a great rate from Tampa, we bought 5 Seats for the 4 of us, as we wanted to bring a 5th bag... It was $23 dollars for us from Tampa to Miami! Total for 4. We were dropped off at Miami Int. Airport, where we had pre-arranged a room at the La Quinta East. Marcello was great! We got to the Hotel around 7pm and the Kids went to an old Bennigans for chicken wings, etc. Sat. morning we had 10:30 am seats complimentary to the Port. Got there about 11, and boarded the ship around noon. Early for us as we usually are the last ones on board! The ship was incredible. We have been waiting for the "Kids Sail Free" offer since Jan. as we do not have alot of $$$$ like the haven folks... Sailaway party was delayed almost an hour as visitors. (Teng Family) Refused to get off the ship til they were found. After a long wait we finally were off! Much more to come as I am uploading hundreds of pics to our flickr page, where you can see them all... Fantastic ship, fantastic crew, wonderful experience! May your seas be flat... And Your tummies be fat. Deb, Ed, Sean and Amy Moore Tampa Bay Will post sailaway pics tom. Can you say Spongebob? lol Edited November 10, 2014 by eddeb title of post mispelled! eddeb Posted November 11, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted November 11, 2014 Follow up, we got into our room, 13880 a little after 1pm. Great layout, large shower. balcony fine... Buffet food was very good, well laid out, a little crowded but the 1st day everyone is there... I thought the food was excellent. Went to the H20 sail away party, ship was held up as they could not locate guests that were visiting the ship and did not get off when they were supposed to. I'd like to be a fly on the wall on the Bridge... lol. :) Just a short note today. Take care, Ed, Deb, Sean and Amy Moore Tampa Bay Ps_ So sorry, apparently my 18 million pixel camera needs to downsize pics to thumb size... I cannot do this as we have "Lotsa" great pics. So I will upload them to a Flickr account just for this cruise. and you can then click there on that link.... No spam, just a great site to share your pics. Hopefully Tomorrow, we have a cruise this Sat. on the Carny Paradise for 5 days. All we are paying is Port Charges! Yay! We call this our "re-Bound Cruise!" lol Will not have a sail and sign account that will cause cardiac arrest on this next one for sure. lol I was shaking like the top performer on "Burn the Floor" really. Wow...
eddeb Posted November 13, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted November 13, 2014 (edited) Just posted some pics of the sail away party, great fun. Here is the link that will take you to our photo sharing site Flickr, https://www.flickr.com/photos/debbiemoore115/ These are only Getaway Pics: Do not miss it. Went exploring the ship and picked Tropicana for 1st nite. Great food, great service, and an electric atmosphere. Went to the welcome aboard party at 9:45. Samples of Burn the floor, Legally blond, etc. Good show! Went to the Casino Later and found them pretty tight... Better later in the week when they made their "Quota".... lol. Ordered room service for a BLT, Grilled Cheese, etc. At around 4am. It was Halloween week so we always give chocolate Bars and $2 tips all week. Crew loves it. More Pics and Day 2 Tomorrow. eddeb Posted November 13, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted November 13, 2014 Slept in after long nite in casino...Noonish? lol Had room service bring Cont. Breakfast, juice, cereal, coffee etc. Great for the balcony. Please always tip. Cash is better as they do not have to share it with all the crew. Went hot tubbing and Mom, Sean and Amy went on the slides... Lets just say the big orange "Spinner" slide got my son to spell out a very nawty word... They have a purple slide that's a little less intense. Lunch in the Buffet, all was very good. We do not each much all day, as we like to save it for dinner. Tonight was Teppanyaki. The food and service were 2nd to none. We met a waiter Named "Eby" we had seen on the Pearl several years back. He said: "Where's my pictures you were going to email me?" Nothing like going on a super ship to find out you lost his email years ago... lol He was very friendly and served us warm Sake. Great. Our Chef was great, but I noticed a Head Chef watching all the other Chefs with his arms crossed, with a stern look on his face... It was obvious he was there to rate them, etc. Our Chef was doing a great job, we sang along, Gangnum style, had other table involved and it was a great atmosphere. He dropped his spatula several times, and broke 5 or six eggs... I thought it was funny, but the Head Chef just got a little more stern looking. I thought I'd cheer him up a little and went up to him and said: "Ya know its Halloween and I just think we can blame this on Spooks!" He laughed and shook my hand. The next day we had Chocolate, gourmet cookies, homemade confections delivered to our Cabin, with compliments from head Chef Ricardo. THANKS Ricardo! What a great treat you sent us... After a great dinner, we went to the 10pm showing of "Burn the Floor". I thought the dancers were awesome, and actually felt tired after watching them dance and shake for over an hour. They got a huge standing ovation and it was a great nite. Went to O'Sheehan's for Burger and late nite snacks, went bowling, had a great time. Off to the slots in the Casino, got in around 3am, and ordered BLT's and milk for the Kids. Chocolate and $ tip of course... :) Pics are St. Maarten, took the water Taxi, got 2 Umbrellas, 4 chairs and 7 Beers for $24. :) Will post more Tom. Getting ready for our Carnival cruise this weekend out of Tampa on the Paradise... Our (Re-bound cruise). Take care everyone. eddeb Posted November 14, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted November 14, 2014 Thanks for getting back to us, Von After getting off the ship you can walk to the water Taxi's to take you to the French style Beach. After getting off the boat, take a left past the Police Depot and Liquor store. There is a large sidewalk. A pirate themed Restaurant is to your right, and just past that is the Rows and rows of Orange and yellow umbrellas. (the most on the Beach) Our friend Brian's booth is directly in front of the Sea View Hotel. Tell Brian you know Crazy Ed from Tampa, and we sent you to him. He might remember if you tell him we are like family, and will be back next year.... (ie: can't get rid of us... ;) I told him next year 8 Heinekens.... He told me, "We'll see" :) Oh, and he brought the 7 beers in a big bucket with the beers totally covered in ice! Orient Beach they said had alot of Hurricane damage, and we have been there many times. So this was so much more relaxing. The big donut float is also included, and the kids had a great time. Went for snacks at the pirate rest. My son hates sand so one of the massage ladies picked him up on her shoulders to carry him to our chairs... She and he fell flat on the soft sand and she spent 4 or five minutes facedown, laughing all the time. Of course we gave her a few dollars, as we know they live off the ships coming to port. You can also ask your crew on the water taxi about Brian and the Orange and yellow umbrellas. :) They may know him. Thanks for getting back. That ship and crew were really incredible. eddeb Posted November 15, 2014 Author #18 Share Posted November 15, 2014 We are back to back (sorta) 2 weeks ago Getaway, this week Paradise... Will Get back to you when we get back to Tampa. We have a Date in Cozumel with a Frog named "Senor"... I'd rather be a cruising than a workin'... Its always 5 O'clock on the ship... Is the ship moving, or am I drunk? My son asked the time and we told him, 7 O'clock, and then he said Am or Pm ? That is funny. There are wooden ships, There are Great ships, But the "Best" ships are the "Friendships" You make. :) Kudos to the Crew, and friends we made.
