KPfromCT Posted November 4, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2014 Hi all! Looking at the Carnival Liberty for June 2015. We will fly down the day prior. Would like a nice hotel/resort, but want to see her pull into port in the AM. Also, a nice pool.:D:D Walking distance to a nice local restaurant is a bonus. Thanks in advance!!! :)
Dirkgun Posted November 4, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2014 With those criteria... The only one I can think of is the Sheraton in Old San Juan. It is almost right across the street from the pier. The roof top pool offers some great views. If you are up there or out watching at 5:30 in the morning I am sure the sight is pretty awesome. I know we stayed there in 2010 post cruise and got to watch our ship leave again that night from up on the roof. The hotel is not really much of a resort but a nice place with a casino and close to everything. The resort I really prefer is the Caribe Hilton... I would imagine you can see the ship cruise by at some time, but not real close to the port. Much more resort type property however.
wingnt68 Posted November 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Sheraton in Old San Juan. It is directly across the street from the port. Nice hotel with outside dining that looks at the port.
sail7seas Posted November 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) Sheraton Old San Juan meets your 'view' wishes if you get a waterview facing room but it isn't what I would call a 'great' hotel. It's adequate and location is immediately across the street from downtown docks. There are plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. We preferred staying in Isle Verde with much nicer hotels. mlrack101 Posted November 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2014 Sheraton is great as stated right across the street. We lucked out the first time and were able to book for just one night. The next time to OSJ we had to book for 2 nights so we ended up at a boutique hotel. It was okay, but the streets where noisy as OSJ tends to come alive at night. So February we are back to OSJ and staying for 2 nights prior to the cruise and booked at the Sheraton. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
