Djptcp Posted November 12, 2014 Author #27 Share Posted November 12, 2014 I've been out of town, so just getting back to my original post. Someone asked what we paid for the upgrade to a Neptune Suite and it was only $199 per person. See why we couldn't pass it up? Cheap, cheap, cheap. I received the email on Nov. 7th in the morning and as I said, had the upgrade booked within 15 minutes. I didn't want to wait and possibly lose it. I also went to the HAL website later in the day and saw that the suites were sold out. When I talked to the HAL rep on the phone, I told her we would prefer a Neptune Suite more forward and she said it was my lucky day because there was one left. I booked directly through HAL because it is a VIP casino cruise and we had to book directly. Normally, I just go online and book our cruises without talking to anyone. We have been upgraded on Carnival without going through them, so I think it's a crap shoot regarding who receives upgrades/upsells and who does not. Maybe it doesn't really matter how you book.
