Reisebiene Posted November 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Hello, we are on Eurodam 11/30 to 12/14 in the Caribbean. Can we get cash money (US$) on the Islands at ATM`s (Cayman, St. Thomas, Jamaica, San Juan)? And have we Beachtowels in the Cabin? Thanks.
jtl513 Posted November 18, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Hello,we are on Eurodam 11/30 to 12/14 in the Caribbean. Can we get cash money (US$) on the Islands at ATM`s (Cayman, St. Thomas, Jamaica, San Juan)? Yes at St Thomas and San Juan, as they are U.S. territory. Probably no at the others. Once at an ATM in Nassau Bahamas the machine said I could get $US, but when I tried it gave me Bahamian. Also, you can get a $US cash advance on your shipboard account at the Front Desk for a 3% fee. And have we Beachtowels in the Cabin? Thanks. We didn't notice any in our cabin on the Eurodam on a Sept North Atlantic T-A , but they might be there in the Caribbean. IIRC some ships have large blue-striped ones to distinguish them from the others. If not you can pick them up at the gangway when going ashore. regnig Posted November 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Hello,And have we Beachtowels in the Cabin? Thanks. Yes your stateroom steward will leave them for you and replace them when dirty. IF by chance they are not there just ask.

Not sure about Cayman and Jamaica. Our stateroom attendant left beach towels in our cabin on our cruise last week.
iflyrc5 Posted November 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Some ships have the beach towels at the gangway as you get off and others give them to you in the cabins - we had it both ways on our 2 cruises earlier this year.
kensinsd Posted November 20, 2014 #6 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Hello,we are on Eurodam 11/30 to 12/14 in the Caribbean. Can we get cash money (US$) on the Islands at ATM`s (Cayman, St. Thomas, Jamaica, San Juan)? And have we Beachtowels in the Cabin? Thanks. We had beach towels in our cabin with a nice little wrapper letting us know that they would cost something like $26.50 if they went missing. The nice thing about the wrapper is it keeps them tightly bundled until you get to the beach and need them.
sail7seas Posted November 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2014 As others have said, San Juan and St Thomas use US dollars. Not sure about Cayman and Jamaica. Our stateroom attendant left beach towels in our cabin on our cruise last week. You likely will not get US $ from ATM's in Caymans or Jamaica but you can use US $ there. Everyone of the islands you list will accept dollars.
Riversedge Posted November 20, 2014 #8 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Why not just take the cash you need and put it in your safe? All of the places you are going take US dollars. Otherwise you'll need to use an ATM in either San Juan or St. Thomas as others have said. Our bank charges 3% conversion fee on international useage for our debit card so we take extra cash and lock it up.

Reisebiene Posted November 21, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted November 21, 2014 Thanks all! Yes we live in Germany and for us is better to take $ in USA from ATM. But there we have a Limit per Day. But it`s ok in SJ and we are on B2B so we will be in Ft. lauderdale after 1 Week. I forgot.
