Rare luvbigdogs Posted November 19, 2014 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2014 Has anyone visited this beach club south of the ports? We are looking to spend the afternoon on the beach, and we have been to Paradise. We are a crowd of 4 adults with no kids. The pictures of C&C look fun, but the beach looks very small. Will be there in the afternoon, so are crowds an issue at either? Any recommendations would be appreciated!
IdRatherBCruisin Posted November 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2014 We have gone to Carlos N Charlies each time we went to Cozumel. (last time was about 2 years ago) Love it! Have never encountered big crowds and never had a problem finding a place to sit away from the party people (we like to party but not "crazy" party). There are vendors that walk along the beach and try to sell you things. But, again we never had a problem. Always enjoyed the food and the drinks were reasonably priced. Snorkeling is not that great but beach was just fine for us. There are plenty of cabs ready to take you back to the ship and it wasn't a long ride. Hope this helps! Have fun!. Rare crewsweeper Posted November 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2014 I'd say depending on the time of year and number of ships in probably not going to be as crowded as Paradise or Mr Sanchos. C&C has fewer amenities. But with the closing of C&C downtown, this beach might attract the spring breakers. If you're looking for a beach with similar amenities as Paradise but doesn't typically attract cruisers, look into San Francisco Beach club in between C&C and Paradise. Or maybe check out Corona Beach Club just past Chankanaab.
tsconley19 Posted November 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2014 Paradise Beach Club is directly next door to Carlos & Charlie's. $3 admission fee the Paradise, not sure about Carlos. Enjoyed Paradise very much. Was there in April. Nice pool, showers, lounge chairs, use of beach. Large facility, plenty of chairs poolside and beachfront. Good food and drink. PAYG. 12reca Posted November 22, 2014 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2014 WOW, this is our 5th time to Cozumel and we were definitely looking for something different. We did book the Cozumel Punta Sur Marine Park Snorkel and Papitos Beach Break (S1728) excursion and got EXACTLY what we were looking for, exactly as advertised. We love beaches and snorkeling, not that much on snorkel boats, we prefer the comfort of a beach and the safety coming with it. This was picture perfect and incredibly well priced. Kim, their representative, met us across the street from our ship, put on the wrist bands for Punta sur park and got us on our private ride to the place, Papitos. There was no hassle with taxi fare, etc...everything was paid for. Arriving at Punta sur, we just showed our wrist bands and done. This is a great park and something not many people get to see. Impressive beaches and completely protected by the island, no waves, no sea weed, etc. As we had been to Tulum before, we did not stop at the ruins and headed straight for Papitos and the booked snorkel tour. Papitos was exactly the kind of beach we were looking for. No vendors, no traffic, no party noise...just a beach...one of the most beautiful beaches we ever visited. Juan met us and let us know about the times we can join the snorkel tour. We did not go out right away as relaxing was on the top of our list. We had a drink and appetizer, then we flagged Juan and he took care of preparing the snorkeling equipment for us, we did like the fact that flotation vests were included and optional. The reef is a 5min swim out and...incredible!! We've been to Mr. Sanchos and Playa UIvas before, neither of those locations can be compared to Papito's. We were the only ones at the reef which was full of fish, fans and coral. I have never seen a bigger grouper than there, there were also stingrays and turtles...what an awesome snorkel experience! Back at the beach we took advantage of the free massage included and then went for their seafood platter. Awesome again! Lobster was as fresh as you can imagine, all was served at our lounge chairs on the beach! We paid $35 for the snorkeling tour, use of Papito facilities and transportation from and back to our ship. I guess that is the best priced snorkel experience in Cozumel, completely worth every cent! And I cannot give enough credit to Papitos Beach...it's a jewel!!!! Thank you guys for making our day incredibly worth it, we now know exactly where to go when back to this island!
