Will We Be "Fashionably Correct"?

HELP PLEASE!!! icon_smile.gif

We are going on the Caribbean Princess in 3 weeks, and I have been somewhat stressing about our wardrobes. DH and I both have "nice" clothes, but we've never cruised before, so I've been frantic about finding the "perfect" outfits!

I have two short cocktail dresses, one black and one red. Both are sleeveless, but classy. Is red weird for the Caribbean, or is it OK because it's formal evening wear?

As far as the men, my husband has one black suit. He plans to wear it both formal nights, with 2 different dress shirts/ties, of course. My question is for the "smart casual" nights.... my husband plans to bring khakis with short sleeved polos and (nice) hawaiian shirts. He also has a neutral-colored silk sportcoat. Is this typical attire?

Thanks a million from another first-timer!

Thanks everyone! DH has never seen me in red before, so when I tried on the red dress, he thought it looked "Christmassy." Well, you know how us girls can get - suddenly I'm paranoid!

Thanks again! Can't wait to wear it now!

I wore a red cocktail dress on my first cruise and it was also in the summer. Nothing Christmasy about it. It will be fine!!! Have a great trip!

Unless you pair the dress with a Santa hat and jingle bell earrings, you won't look Christmasy at all. I have a long red dress that I wear all year long. Don't worry, you're going to look fantastic.
