Just off Sensation Cruise

Just finished my review on Cruise Critic but wanted to say here that I think Sensation is the best managed ship I have ever been on and have been cruising for 20 years. The employees are happy, helpful, efficient, friendly, and eager to please in any way they can. The cabin was comfortable and quiet. Cabin U157 is well located. The food was wonderful. We had lobster tail which I had read isn't being served anymore on NCL. The flat steak was tasty and tender. The buffet had great choices and strawberry fozen yogurt in addition to ice cream 24 hours. We had My Time Dining in the Fantasy Dining Room and service was amazing. Never waited over 3 minutes to be seated. We chose to share a table each night and our dining companions were friendly and delightfully entertaining. OUr servers called us by name as they set each dish in front of us. Our tea and water glasses were kept full. The servers were charming and fun. Be sure to ask for the magician. He is excellent.

Embarkation was the fastest and easiest I have ever seen. Glad I didn't do FTTF because we parked our car at 11 a.m. and sat down to eat at 12:30. Our bags were in our cabin at 2:15. Don't see how it could have been any faster.

Thank you to this board for 1) telling me about Early Saver (I got $245 OBC for the first time in my life) and 2) telling me about Serentity Deck. I loved it and used it often.

Debarkation was easy.

I would be eager to cruise on Carnival Sensation any time I get the chance.

I am ready to change our yearly 7 day cruise from NCL to Carnival because of this cruise. This kind of service has to be Management Culture. It doesn't happen by accident.

Thanks for the great review. We are sailing Sensation in April, and we're very excited! Are there any specialty restaurants on the ship? We will celebrate our 5th anniversary while onboard, and I am wondering if there is something extra special we can do.

No specialty restaurants but if you talk to the MDR staff they might be able to give you a special night. Also you can still order the Steak house steak and lobster for a $20 fee in the MDR.

I also am happy to see positive remarks about the Sensation. I have a soft spot in my heart for this ship. She was my first Carnival cruise back in 2000. Back then it was a 7 day western cruise from Tampa, and got me hooked on Carnival. Thanks for taking the time to post your review.:)

I think they are called The Administration, and they were there on our April 5 sailing. They were very good!

I am also just back from sensation cruise and it was brilliant, no complaints! We did use FTTF and found it to be excellent, we arrived at the port at 11.15 and were on the ship at 11.30. The other benefit is also that your cabin is ready for you as soon as soon as you board, our luggage arrived approx 1pm in the cabin. There is also a seperate queue at guest services which is worth its weight in gold as there was a long queue most of the time, thankfully we didn't need to wait in it. I personally will use FTTF everytime I sail!

Can you qualify for more than 1 OBC offer due to various promotions? We received our 1st OBC a month ago due to an ES special that mirrored our existing reservation but offered an OBC. Now another identical special is out with another OBC. I doubt if we can qualify for another one.
